01Agreeing to these terms

Placing an order or using this site means you accept everything on this page. If you don't agree with it, please don't order. You need to be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian place the order for you.

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the day you order, so the date above is worth checking.

02Orders, pricing & payment

Submitting an order is an offer to buy, not a completed contract. The contract forms when we email you to confirm the order has shipped. Until then we may decline or cancel it — including after your card has been charged — if:

• the item is out of stock or the batch failed quality check
• the price or description was listed in error
• the order appears fraudulent, or the billing and shipping details don't reconcile
• we can't ship to your address

If we cancel, you get a full refund to the original payment method within 5 business days. Prices are in US dollars, exclude sales tax, and can change without notice. Tax is calculated at checkout where we're required to collect it.

03Product descriptions & colour

We describe scents, sizes, and burn times as accurately as we can. Two caveats worth stating plainly: scent perception is subjective and varies with room size, ventilation, and your own nose; and screens render colour differently, so wax and label shades will not match your monitor exactly.

Because every candle is poured by hand in batches of forty or fewer, minor variation in wax surface, colour depth, label placement, and fill level is expected. These are characteristics of a handmade product, not defects, and are not grounds for a defect claim. A candle that burns badly is a different matter — see section 06.

05Fragrance sensitivity & allergies

Fragrance oils can irritate sensitive skin and airways. Room and body mists are formulated for linens and light application to skin — patch-test on a small area first and stop using it if you react. Keep all products away from eyes and out of reach of children.

If you have a known fragrance sensitivity, asthma, or another respiratory condition, check with a doctor before use. Full ingredient information is on every product page and we'll send safety data on request. We are not able to give medical advice.

06Shipping, returns & cancellations

Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees. Once a parcel is handed to the carrier, transit time is outside our control, though we'll help you chase anything that goes missing. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery.

Unburned candles in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Once a candle has been lit it can't be returned for a refund — but a genuine burn defect (tunnelling that won't recover, a drowned or self-extinguishing wick, a cracked jar) is replaced regardless of how much is left. Orders can be cancelled free of charge any time before they ship. The full policy, including rates, is on the shipping and returns page and forms part of these terms.

07Accounts & acceptable use

If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping the password secure and for activity that happens under it. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.

Don't use this site to scrape data, resell products as new without our written agreement, submit false orders, or interfere with how the site runs. We may suspend or refuse service to anyone doing so.

08Intellectual property

The Jess Flame name, logo, label artwork, scent names, product photography, and the copy on this site belong to us and are protected. You may share and link to our pages. You may not reproduce our branding or imagery commercially, or use it in a way that suggests we endorse you, without written permission.

If you post a photo or review of our products publicly and tag us, you give us permission to reshare it with credit. Tell us and we'll take it down.

09Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to a product or this site is capped at the amount you paid for the product in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including lost profits or property damage — arising from use or misuse of our products.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which the studio operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute goes to the courts of that state. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
